KPPA Image Review Rules

KPPA Member benefit - No Charge.
IMAGE REVIEW is open to Members Only - Active, Sustaining and Student are all welcome.
Informal "slight" judging and conversations.
Typically 2-3 weeks prior to the KPPA Annual Shutter Expo and Banquet Event.
Images are judged by KPPA Master Degree holders.
Discussions to better the image encouraged.
Awards are conversation/discussion toward image and a learning experience.
All entries are digital files.
Enter up to six files.
Members ONLY
Our Image Review purpose is for a "light" judging and conversations. The images will be slightly judged by a KPPA Master Degree Holder in order to open discussions "for" and "against" the images for learning purposes. This is a very informal event and is for Members Only. The judging is only for the purpose of giving a base to where the image might score in a formal competition. Learning is the main goal of this event.
The awards for our Image Review are of the self-growth nature, they are: LEARNING, KNOWLEDGE, GUIDANCE and more. This is a fantastic opportunity to ask questions and dive deeper into the creation of your image with others.

Each entrant must be a member of KPPA.
Entrant may enter up to six(6) image for judging/review.
Images will be "lightly" judged/discussed by KPPA Master Degree Holder.
ALL entries for this competition will be in electronic form.

Keep in mind, this is a learning experience and the rules will come into conversations and guidelines during the event. Familiarizing yourself with the rules and trying to adhere to them for this event will benefit you greatly. There are a lot of rules for sure, but it's the starting point to competitions.
HOW TO UPLOAD YOUR FILES FOR IMAGE REVIEW
Be sure to follow rules above for image size and saving parameters.
Image TITLE FORMAT: IMAGE NAME_CATEGORY_MAKER NAME.jpeg. Example: My Little Dog is Stinky_Pet_Jane_Doe.jpeg. NOTE: This file naming is ONLY for KPPA REVIEW. If this image is going to be sent to a different competition of any kind, follow that competition's rules; including Image Critique and/or KPPA Annual State Shutter Competition.

Entries will be judged on photographic artistry and craftsmanship utilizing
PPA's 12 Elements of a Merit Image
KPPA uses the "Point System" as our scoring method so entrants can better understand
how the image ranked overall.
Exceptional Image 100-95
Superior Image 94-90
Excellent 89-85
Deserving of a Merit 84-80
("Merit" referring to PPA scoring system.
KPPA does not award Merits)
Above Average 79-75
Average 74-70
Below Exhibition Standards 69-65
Monitor Calibrations
Images will be judged on a color calibrated monitor with the following viewing calibrations.
Color Temperature: D65 or 6500K
Luminance: 120
Gamma: 2.2
